Windham IGA Supermarket Renovations and Additions, Willimantic, CT
Willimantic Connecticut
This project involved the addition to and renovation of the existing Windham IGA in Willimantic Connecticut to create an approximate 12,000 square foot supermarket. The existing space was functional but did not meet the needs of this growing business.
Aztech Engineers, Inc. performed the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire alarm design for this project. Careful planning and phasing was implemented so that the store could be kept open during all phases of construction. This was more complicated because a great deal of the existing HVAC equipment was reused. A completely new refrigeration system was installed and the HVAC and plumbing (domestic hot water) systems were integrated with the refrigeration system to provide dehumidification, heating and hot water heating by reclaiming some of the heat from the refrigeration system.
