City of Hartford – Dept of Public Works Vehicle Maintenance Renovations

This project involved renovations to the City of Hartford Department of Public Works Vehicle Maintenance Facility and Vehicle Storage garage stemming from a roof replacement. Aztech Engineers, Inc. designed the mechanical, electrical and plumbing portions of the project which consisted of ventilation system upgrades and modifications as well as upgrades to the roof drainage system and electrical power wiring to the new equipment. Simple replacement of the rooftop mechanical equipment was not adequate. Many of the systems needed to be upgraded for code compliance. Make-up air units were added to provide air balance for the large quantities of required exhaust air. Once complete the properly balanced building provided much better heating and temperature control. The project was broken into two projects due to tight budgetary concerns. Combined, the entire construction project was valued at approximately 1.5 million dollars.
